2) Born on Friday,December 19,1941 in Memphis,Tennessee,USA (died on February 4,2016 in Los Angeles) was an American singer-songwriter,musician,record producer,arranger,and bandleader.He was the founder of a very famous funk band that had a #1 single on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1975.He served as the band's main songwriter and record producer,and was co-lead singer along with Philip Bailey.
He won seven Grammys,and was nominated for a total of twenty Grammys.He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame with this funk band and was also inducted individually into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
