Hello people,
    we have ten (10) birthdays on this date;four singers,a stunt performer,three
actresses,two models and two trivia questions.
   Let's start with the two trivia questions.


Trivia 1)October 17:244 years ago today on Monday,October 17,1777 British General
John Burgoyne surrendered to Horatio Gates after the battle of Saratoga.This battle
brought France and Spain into the war and split the British colonies.

Trivia 2)On Friday,October 17,1806 Jean-Jacques Dessalines,the man who led the
revolution that ended slavery in Haiti,died after being assassinated.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III.That is not the name he is known by.He has had five
number one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 with one of them spending 12 weeks

 2)Born on Thursday,October 17,1968 in Kingston,Jamaica is a singer,musician and
leader of the band Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers and the son of a very famous
reggae icon.He also performed the theme song for the children's cartoon series

Clearwater,Florida,USA) was a stunt performer and entertainer.Over the course of
his career,he attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps;in 1974,he
failed an attempted canyon jump across Snake River Canyon in the Skycycle X-2,a
steam-powered rocket.He was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999.

City) was an actress and dancer.She achieved fame during the 1940s as one of the
era's top stars,appearing in a total of 61 films over 37 years.The press coined the term "The Love Goddess" to describe her after she had become the most glamorous screen idol of the 1940s.She was the top pin-up girl for GIs during World War II.
    She is perhaps best known for her performance in the 1946 film noir,"Gilda", opposite Glenn Ford,in which she played the femme fatale in her first major dramatic role.Fred Astaire,with whom she made two films,called her his favorite dance partner.Her greatest success was in the Technicolor musical "Cover Girl" (1944),with Gene Kelly.She is listed as one of the top 25 female motion picture stars of all time in the American Film Institute's survey, "AFI's 100 Years...100 Stars".

   According to The Playboy Book,she was paid $500 for her Playmate pictorial, along with $100 a month during her two-year exclusivity contract with Playboy. During the 1960s,she had an acting career, appearing in parts in B-movies and series television.She also was a Bunny at the Chicago Playboy Club,where she made $1000 a week.After her career at Playboy she worked as a makeup artist for Alice Cooper and in the business office of the Oakland Raiders.She died in Phoenix,Arizona, at the age of 78.She was survived by her daughter Stephanie Wolfe.

"I didn't think Burt was my type,until I met him."
   She appeared as "Sara" in the 1993 movie "Killing Device".
