Hello people,
    we have ten (10) birthdays on this date;a deceased opera singer,two actors,a former track and field athlete,a former professional basketball player,a model,two actresses,a musician,a deceased comedian and two trivia questions.
   Let's start with the two trivia questions.


Trivia 1)October 12:On Saturday,October 12,2002 in Bali,Indonesia a bombing occurred
that resulted in the deaths of 202 people and 209 persons were injured.

Trivia 2) On Wednesday,October 12,1492 Italian explorer Christopher Columbus landed
for the first time in the western hemisphere at Watling Island in the Bahamas.

1)Born on Saturday,October 12,1935 in Modena,Italy (died:September 6,2007 in Modena,
Italy) was an Italian operatic tenor who also crossed over into popular music,eventually
becoming one of the most commercially successful tenors of all time.He visited the #1
spot on the UK weekly Album Chart on four different albums.

 2) Born on Saturday,October 12,1968 in Sydney,Australia is an actor,singer and producer.He has won international recognition for his roles in a variety of film genres.He is known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the "X-Men" film series,as well as for his lead roles in films such as the romantic-comedy fantasy "Kate & Leopold" (2001).

 4) Born on Sunday,October 12,1975 in Los Angeles is a former world champion track and field athlete and a former professional basketball player for Tulsa Shock in the WNBA.She won three gold medals and two bronze medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney,Australia but was later stripped of the titles after admitting to steroid use.She did retain her three gold medals as a world champion from 1997 and 1999.

 5) Born on Thursday,October 12,1978 in Belgrade,Serbia is a former professional
basketball player.Standing at 2.01 meters,he played the shooting guard position.He
also represented the Yugoslavian national basketball team internationally.
   He was selected as the 30th overall draft pick,by the Los Angeles Clippers,in the 2000 NBA draft.After playing in 3 NBA seasons with the Clippers,he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. 
   He was an All-EuroLeague First Team member in 2002.

Playboy Playmate of the Month for May 2015.She was raised in Kansas (hence,her
Yorkshire Terrier is named "Toto").Back in the Midwest,she was enrolled in the police academy and was just a week away from signing the papers to enlist in the Marines when she was discovered as a model! And the rest is history.A huge loss for the U.S. Military,but an incredible win for Swoop.

   In the early 1970s,she was twice a finalist in the Annual Miss West Coast bikini beauty pageant,staged in Perth each January.She was described as a "bombshell",and later appeared as a game show helper on local TV.
   After appearing in obscure low-budget sex-comedy film Plugg (1975),shot in Perth,she came to Melbourne and acted in several television roles for Crawford
Productions.She played three different roles during the final episodes of "Homicide".Her appearances did not feature much in the way of dialogue or characterisation and the focus was on showcasing her attractive figure in revealing costumes.
   Starting in mid-1975 she also began making appearances in Crawford Production's
sex-comedy soap opera "The Box".Playing television starlet Angela O'Malley,she
made several nude appearances in the series.She left "The Box" towards the end of 1975,but returned for a three month stint starting February 1976.
   She subsequently found fame as a nude pin-up model.She was Penthouse magazine's
December 1977 Pet and in 1979 she was chosen Penthouse's Pet of the Year in a
televised pageant held at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.In July 1980 she kicked off New York Mayor Ed Koch's "Festival of Fragrances".She was again showcased
with a ten-page spread in Penthouse in 1980 and posed for Oui Magazine in November
1982.During this period she appeared in films such as "The Eyes of Laura Mars" and
"Used Cars".
   She did not receive the Penthouse prizes promised and in 1985 took the company
to the New York State Supreme Court which ruled that she was entitled to them.The
judgment was later affirmed on appeal.
   She now lives in the US and designs jewelry which she sells under the name of
Royal Order.She is married to club owner Art Davis.

 8) Born on Thursday,October 12,1972 in Van Nuys,California,USA is a actress and model.She is Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for March 1994.She was a child of agrarian hippies, growing up on an organic farm with no electricity in Northern California's Sierra Nevada mountains.When she was 18,she left the commune and moved to Los Angeles.She soon found modeling and acting work and landed her first acting role as "Rita" in "The Bikini Carwash Company",in which she was credited as Neriah Napaul.This led to parts in "Meatballs 4" and "The Bikini Carwash Company II",establishing her acting career before appearing in Playboy.While working on a photo shoot,the photographer asked if he could send some of her shots to the magazine. Davis agreed, and shortly thereafter,she became a Playboy Playmate.
   Since appearing in Playboy,she continued with modeling and acting projects,
including roles on "Baywatch","Married... with Children", and "Suddenly Susan".

founding member of a very famous all-female alternative country band that had three #1 albums on the US Billboard 200.
   She won awards in national fiddle championships while still a teenager.She is accomplished on several other instruments,including the mandolin,viola,double bass and guitar.She has written and co-written a number of the band's songs,some of which have become chart-topping hits.She also contributes her skills invocal harmony and backing vocals,as well as orchestrating string arrangements for the band.

10)Born on Wednesday,October 12,1932 in St. Louis,Missouri,USA (died:August 19,2017 in Washington,D.C.) was an African-American comedian,civil rights activist,social critic,writer,conspiracy theorist,entrepreneur and occasional actor.During the turbulent 1960s,he became a pioneer in stand-up comedy for his "no-holds-barred" sets,in which he mocked bigotry and racism.
   He was at the forefront of political activism in the 1960s,when he protested the Vietnam War and racial injustice.He was arrested multiple times and went on many hunger strikes.He later became a speaker and author,primarily promoting spirituality.
   His comedy occasioned controversy in some conservative white circles.The administration of the University of Tennessee,for instance,branded him an "extreme racist" whose" appearance would be an outrage and an insult to many citizens of this state" and revoked his invitation by students to speak on campus.The students sued,with noted litigator William Kunstler as their counsel and in Smith v. University of Tennessee,300 F. Supp. 777 (E.D. Tenn. 1969),won an order from the court that the University's policy was "too broad and vague". The University of Tennessee then implemented an "open speaker" system and he subsequently performed in April 1970.
