Hello people,
    We have eleven (11) birthdays on this date;a great deceased disc jockey,
four singers,royalty,an actress,two models and two actors.
   Let's start with the great deceased disc jockey.


 1) Born on Friday,September 7,1934 in Oceanside,New York,USA (Died:June 24,2018 in Fort Lauderdale,Florida,USA) was a Top 40 radio disc jockey with a fifty-year career on radio stations such as WABC and WCBS-FM in New York City.He was one of the most highly regarded DJs from his era.He was noted for his quick wit and ability to convey a humorous or satiric idea with quick pacing and an economy of words,a skill which rendered him uniquely suited to and successful within,modern personality-driven music radio.In 2007 he was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.
      On a personal note I grew up listening to this DJ.

 2) Born on Monday,September 7,1936 in Lubbock,Texas,USA (Died:February 3,1959 in
Clear Lake,Iowa,USA) was a musician,singer-songwriter and record producer who was a central and pioneering figure of mid-1950s rock and roll.In 1957 one of his songs topped the US Billboard "Best Sellers in Stores" chart.
   After a show in Clear Lake,Iowa,he chartered an airplane to travel to his next
show in Moorhead,Minnesota.Soon after takeoff,the plane crashed,killing him, Ritchie Valens,The Big Bopper and pilot Roger Peterson in a tragedy later referred to by Don McLean (who currently resides in Camden,Maine) as "The Day the Music Died".
   Although he died at 22 he was a major influence on later popular music artists,
including Bob Dylan,The Beatles,The Rolling Stones,Eric Clapton,Weezer and Elton John.He was among the first artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,in 1986.Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 13 in its list of "100 Greatest Artists".

 7) Born on Monday,September 7,1931 in San Francisco (Died:January 14,2006 in Beverly Hills,California,U.S.A.) was an American actress and model.She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for October 1958.
   In 1949,she won the local Miss Milkmaid pageant,which launched her career.She
was Miss San Francisco of 1950,having performed a monologue.Her prize was a Gensler Lee diamond ring.She took honors for Miss San Francisco and flew to Santa Cruz,California to be on Jim Davis's KCBS Radio Show and take part in the 1951 Miss California Pageant.She dated and married George von Duuglas-Ittu on January 9,1951 in Carson City,Nevada.They divorced on January 6,1954.
    She began appearing on Queen for a Day and the Colgate Comedy Hour in the early 1950s,as well as modeling for various magazines.She was discovered by Howard Hughes who signed her for his films "The French Line" and "Son Of Sinbad".She posed for magazines such as TV Fan,and People Today,and TV Guide.
   She was in the movies such as Kismet,Man with the Gun,Daddy Long Legs,and The
Adventures of Hajji Baba.
   She was signed to NBC in February 1956, starring in The NBC Comedy Hour,with
appearances on The Milton Berle Show,The Jimmy Durante Show and The Chevy Show.She
appeared in an episode of Blondie and Matinee Theater.
   She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for October 1958, tied with
Mara Corday.Her centerfold was in Space Cowboys. Gigi was her last movie,in 1958.
   She dated Frank Sinatra,Phillip Lambro,and Rod Taylor.Shortly after Bing Crosby's first wife,Dixie Lee,died of ovarian cancer,he started dating her.Eventually,Crosby proposed to her.On May 4,1958,she married Crosby's son,Dennis Crosby in Las Vegas,Nevada.They had two children:Dennis Jr. and Patrick Anthony,and Franz Nicholas Gregory who Dennis adopted from the previous marriage in December of 1958,rechristened Gregory Crosby.
    She died of a heart attack on January 14,2006 in Beverly Hills, California,
aged 74.On April 26, 2019, she was posthumously inducted into the Galileo Academy of Science and Technology Hall of Merit.
