AUGUST 6,1945:70 YEARS AGO THE BOMBING OF HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI

On August 6th,1945 the US dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and two days later dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. An act considered a necessary evil. The Americans consider it necessary while the Japanese consider it as evil. Many people perceive World War II as the last war America was involved in where they held the moral high ground. So,Americans tend to dismiss any blemish to this scenario. The Japanese never apologized for attacking Pearl Harbor and the American have never apologized for dropping the atomic bombs on Japan. Many Americans claim that dropping the bomb was necessary because had this not been done it would have lead to a full scale invasion of Japan that would have resulted in a lot more lives being lost. Do you believe that??????
The Operation Meetinghouse air raid in Tokyo between March 9 and March 10,1945 was estimated to be the single most destructive bombing raid in history.Approximately 15.8 square miles (4,090 ha) of the city (more than Hiroshima) was destroyed and some 100,000 people are estimated to have died. Japan was already on it's last leg.Further, after Germany capitulated in May of 1945 the Soviets were freed up from fighting in Europe. The Soviets were now ready to fight in Japan. The Soviets were plotting an invasion of Japan.Japan already damaged knew they could not stand up against both the Americans and Soviets. They were contemplating a surrender. So why did the US drop the atomic bomb on Japan.
Some believe,if the Soviets were able to do a land invasion of Japan, when Japan surrendered it would make many concessions to the Soviets. Americans didn't want this. They wanted Japan to make all concessions to the US.So that was one reason why America intervened with dropping the bomb.
A second reason was,Americans knew with the end of World War II the cold war between the US & the Soviets would resume. So, the US wanted to intimidate the USSR by sending them a message-"DON'T FUCK WITH US".A rather futile threat. The doomsday clock began ticking.Within 20 years the nuclear arms race saw both the US & Soviets possessing nuclear weapons 5000 times more deadly than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. By the time the 1970s rolled around both sides had about 25,000 nuclear weapons.
Many experts now accept the once controversial view that geopolitical and diplomatic concerns about the Soviet Union influenced US President Harry Truman,Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson, and Secretary of State James F. Byrnes, consciously or unconsciously, when they chose what Stimson called the "master card" (the atomic bomb) over other readily available ways to end World War II.
A master card is that what they use to refer to 143,000 dead people.
Albert Einstein said- I DO NOT KNOW HOW WORLD WAR III WILL BE FOUGHT BUT WORLD WAR IV WILL BE FOUGHT WITH STICKS AND STONES".
